This Valentine’s Day, we’re celebrating the incredible impact of Little Hearts at Home — a groundbreaking remote cardiac monitoring platform that helps babies with congenital heart conditions spend more time at home with their families.
One of those brave little heart warriors is 18-month-old Sophia, who was born with Congenital Heart Disease (CHD). Thanks to Little Hearts at Home, she spent just three weeks in hospital after birth before being discharged, with her heart health closely monitored remotely by the dedicated cardiac team at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
Before her first open-heart surgery, the platform detected a drop in her oxygen levels, allowing the team to admit her early and provide life-saving care. After surgery, Sophia was discharged in just six days.
“The platform is fantastic. Without it, no doubt we’d be in hospital for much longer. It makes us feel safer at home, knowing the cardiac team is always watching over Sophia”
